Caspar Broecheler, born in Vaalst (Limburg) scored his first great success in 1938 at the 'Stadttheater von Bremen'. From 1940 he joined for years this theatre. In the period 1942-43 also guest appearances at the 'Opera von Hamburg', where he joined also from 1946 to 1949. In 1955 he sang at the 'Holland Festival'. He sang from 1947 to 1967 at the 'Dutch Opera Stichting/ Dutch Opera' roles as Scarpia (Tosca), Escamillo (Carmen), Tonio (Paljas), Balstrode (Peter Grimes), Sebastiano (Tiefland), Holländer (Der fliegende Holländer) and many other roles.
