The in Dordrecht born soprano Wilhelmina Gips shined specially in serious, religious repertoire, the oratorio and passions. The roles of Gabriel and Eva from 'Die Schöpfung' (Haydn) suited her better than for example Hanne from 'Die Jahreszeiten' (Haydn). Also in Schumann's 'Péri' she could get on with herself well.
