Martine Dhont
The on 12 Octobre 1880 in The Hague born singer Martine Dhont had a busy practice as oratorio- and concert singer. She was also joined to the 'Muziekschool van Toonkunst' (Musical Society) in Utrecht. She has co-operated - in a concert form - at the operas 'Boris Godounov' (as Marina) and 'La Khovantchina' of Modeste Moussorgski and at the Dutch premiere of Giovanna d'Arco of M.Enrico Bossi. She was also one of the first singers in the Netherlands who brought the lieder of Claude Debussy and Gustav Mahler to the public notice.
She died in Zeist on 25 January 1968.
