Mia Peltenburg, born in Haarlem, was the successor of singers as Offermans, Gips and Noordewier. A German conductor said once, meaning Mia Peltenburg: "You have under your singers not only some stars of the first size, but you have a whole firmanent". She was a concert- and lieder singer, who shined in roles as Beethoven's Ninth', Missa Solemnis, Mahler's Fourth', Matthew Passion, but also as Marguérite in 'La Damnation de Faust (Berlioz) and as Agathe (Der Freischütz). Also with Mengelberg she had gone on a tournee during 1927 and 1929.
